Goldey-Beacom Volleyball Drops Third Straight Against First-Place Caldwell

PIKE CREEK, Del. – The host, Goldey-Beacom College volleyball team dropped its third straight game against the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division's first-place team, Caldwell College, 3-0 on Sat. afternoon at the Jones Center.

GBC (5-13, 2-8) lost in straight sets, 25-20, 25-11 and 25-6, as the Cougars improved to 9-9 for the season and 7-1 in the conference. All seven Caldwell conference wins have been shutouts as its only loss came against Georgian Court.

Graduate senior Kellyn Nolan led the way offensively for the Lightning with eight kills and a .211 hitting percentage. Freshman Monica Dempsey and sophomore Roni Shaner had nine and eight assists, respectively. Graduate senior Christine Hudock led the team with eight digs.

The Cougars were led by Titilola Alao (16 kills) and Lauren Roth (41 assists). Susan McDonough had a game-high 17 digs.

The Lightning are back in action on Wed., Oct. 7 when they host Lincoln University at 7 p.m. GBC defeated Lincoln 3-1 back on Sept. 1 this season.
