PIKE CREEK, Del. – The Goldey-Beacom College men's soccer team was outshot 29-5 as the Lightning lost their fourth straight at home Sat. to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe, Post University, 4-0.
GBC, which has only managed one goal in its last four games, fell to 4-8 (2-5 CACC) as Post improved to 3-6-2 (2-2-1 CACC).
Junior Andrew Cairns and freshman Ignacio Farias split time in the GBC net, with Cairns getting the start. Both allowed two goals while Cairns made three saves and Farias made four.
Along with a 29-5 shot advantage, Post held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Eagle goalkeeper Errol Reid needed to make just one save to preserve the shutout.
Mike Semedo opened the scoring for the day in the 14th minute with an unassisted goal on a direct kick from about 20 yards out. Maurice Johnson followed for the Eagles exactly 16 minutes of play later, firing a shot from 15-yards out past Cairns to give Post a 2-0 advantage.
Post went right back to work in the second half, as Johan Pineda bended a direct kick from the left side of the box and put it in the upper-right corner of the net to put the game out of reach at 3-0.
Dean Robinson added another goal for Post on a penalty kick in the 85th minute for the final goal of the day to give Post a 4-0 win.
