Philadelphia, PA – Men's Soccer drops close game to Chestnut Hill
Goldey-Beacom College men's soccer team traveled to Chestnut Hill College for a CACC matchup on Tuesday afternoon. The Lightning went out firing in the first half, recording 12 shots, while Chestnut Hill only had 3. However, neither team found the back of the net, and went into halftime scoreless.
In the second half, the Lightning again dominated the offensive play, recording 21 shots, but it Chestnut Hill that converted their opportunities. Ross Alford scored in the 65th minute and Andy Thorne completed the scoring for the Griffins in the 80th minute.
Despite the fact that Goldey-Beacom College dominated the game statistically, outshooting the Chestnut Hill 33-8, and holding a 14-0 edge in corner kicks, the Lightning dropped the game 2-0.
The Lightning men will play host to CACC rival Caldwell College this Saturday, October 4 at 3:00pm.
