Wilmington, DE – Lightning sweep season series over Virginia Union

The Lightning Volleyball team hosted Virginia Union University today, as they looked to sweep the two game series. 

The Lightning started out in the first set a little tight but found their groove and won the set 26-24.  With the second set on its way, the Lightning dominated from the very beginning and took the set 25-18. 

The Lightning took the court for the third set and picked up right where they left off in set 2.  Led by the overall play of Christine Hudock, who had 12 digs and 5 service aces, the Lightning were able to complete the season sweep with a 25-18 third set victory. 

Also contributing to the win for the Lightning was Chalea Johnson with 9 kills, Amanda Mills with 6 kills, Chantal Pierre with 5 kills and 2 solo blocks and Roni Shaner with 24 set assists.

The Lightning will host the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 7:00pm
