Orangeburg, NY – Lightning Volleyball gets season's first CACC win
The Lightning Volleyball team traveled to Dominican College for their first conference match of the season. The match started out with the exchanging of points. The Lightning pulled ahead in the first set with the help of Christine Hudock's service game. The Lightning won the first set 25-21.
The second set also belonged to the Lightning 25-18. Chalea Johnson dominated the second game with 4 service aces, 7 service points and 3 kills.
The Lightning traded points once again in the third set. However, this time it was Dominican that would break out first and push the match to a fourth set. The fourth set was controlled by the service and setting skills of Roni Shaner, who helped the Lightning, win the fourth set and the match 3-1 over Dominican College.
The Lightning were led by Chalea Johnson with 11 kills, 5 service aces and 5 digs. Chantal Pierre had 12 kills and 3 solo blocks, while Christine Hudock had 22 digs. Amanda Mills added 19 digs and Roni Shaner produced 27 set assists for the match.
