Wilmington, DE – Lightning Tennis falls to Philadelphia University

The Lightning women's tennis team played host to Philadelphia University today.  The Lightning started out their match with the doubles play.  Luisiana Souto and Luciana Pereira led with an 8-6 win over their opponent.  Stephanie Bain and Jennifer Jones came close against their opponent, but dropped their match 8-6.  Philadelphia University took the quick lead 2-1 over the Lightning after the doubles round. 

The Lightning would face a much more difficult task in the singles round.  Luisiana Souto defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-2, 6-4, but that would be the only singles win for the Lightning on this day. 

The Lightning dropped their second match of the season 7-2 to Philadelphia University.  The Lightning will next face La Salle University on the Delcastle courts on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 11:00am.
