Wilmington, DE - Lightning falls to Rams in next to last home game of the season
The Lightning played host to Philadelphia University in the CACC match up on Thursday evening. The Lightning started strong with a 14-possession rally to open the match. However, the Rams would take control of the next several points, extending their lead to 9 points. The Lightning battled back, but could not cut into the Rams lead and fell in the first set 25-16.
The Lightning would surge ahead in the beginning of the second set from the serving game of AJ Hicks. However, the offensive attacks from the Rams proved to be too strong, as they took the second set 25-17 and the third set 25-14.
The Lightning was led by the hitting styles of Chantal Pierre with 9 kills and 2 blocks, and Christine Hudock with 5 kills and 9 digs. Roni Shaner produced 21 set assists and 10 digs, while AJ Hicks had 16 digs for the match.
The Lightning will travel to Felician College on Saturday, October 25, 2008 for a 1:00pm game.
