Lightning Takes Down Cougars

Wilmington, DE – The Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College hosted the Caldwell College Cougars in their home opener tennis match. 

 

Freshman Luisiana Souto led the way for the team with a quick 6-1;6-0 victory over Emilie Skidmore (Caldwell) in the #1 singles match up.  Souto along with Senior Stephanie Bain defeated Skidmore and her partner Suzanne Dragovcic 8-1 in #1 Doubles.  Bain defeated Patty Messick 6-4; 6-2 in her singles match up.  Grad Student Dona Roy defeated Suzanne Dragovcic 6-4; 6-1 while Freshman Arielle Alford defeated Christina Nabrinzy 6-1; 6-2 and Sophomore Berline Duperoy defeated Kristy Leedham 6-0; 6-1.  Roy and Alford defeated Messick and Nabrinzy 8-4 in their doubles match.  The Lightning left the court defeating Caldwell 9-0.  The Lightning are now 1-1 overall and in conference play.
