Dr. Jordan Cohen

Jordan Cohen, DO, CAQ-SM was named Team Physician in 2024 as part of the ongoing partnership for student-athlete care between GBC and ChristianaCare. This partnership utilizes a fellowship model where Dr. Cohen leads a group of Sports Medicine Fellows to administer the care of all Lightning student-athletes and ensure that their care is thorough, coordinated and centered around a safe and timely return to athletic activity. 

Dr. Cohen is a primary care sports medicine specialist at ChristianaCare. He specializes in non-surgical musculoskeletal medicine and Osteopathic Manual Medicine (OMM). He graduated from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology through the Milken Institute School of Public Health and Health Sciences. He graduated medical school from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, CO while completing the Predoctoral Osteopathic Practices and Principles Fellowship. After medical school, he completed Family Medicine Residency at Bryn Mawr Hospital, and then Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at ChristianaCare. Dr. Cohen serves as core faculty and the Director of Osteopathic Education with the Family Medicine Residency program. He also serves as the Associate Program Director with the Christiana Care Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship and assists with sports coverage for the University of Delaware Blue Hens.

Dr. Cohen’s approach to patient care focuses on correcting the root cause of presenting issues and, if not possible, managing symptoms so the people seeking his help can maintain the active lifestyles they desire. He takes a multimodal approach to treatment including Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT), dedicated rehabilitation, diagnostic ultrasound, and minimally invasive needle-based interventions (both ultrasound guided and not) to help patients work toward their goals.

In his free time, Dr. Cohen enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the great outdoors.
