Stephanie Puentes Robinson is in her first season as manager for Goldey-Beacom’s women’s tennis team.

No stranger to the program, Puentes Robinson graduated not only as one of the greatest student-athletes in program history but one of its most influential.  She easily is the winningest singles player in school annals with 59 victories, is tied for second with 49 doubles triumphs, her 19 singles wins in 2012-13 remains the most in team history and her 14 doubles wins two years later is tied for the Lightning’s top spot.

Among her individual honors included being named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year twice (2011-12, 2012-13), the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2011-12, first team All-CACC in 2013-14 and second team all-league in 2014-15.  During her senior year in which she ended ranked 17th in the East Region in singles, she made the CACC Fall Academic Honor Roll a third straight year.

It was in her senior year in 2014-15 that the Bogota, Colombia native showed her greatest influence.  Leading one of the College’s greatest teams, she helped the Lightning to the school’s first head-to-head NCAA Tournament victory in any sport with a 5-3 first-round triumph over CACC-foe Chestnut Hill.

GBC (18-5) ended that year 31st in the country, fourth in the region, broke the school record for most victories and tied the school record with 10 shutouts.  The Lightning made their fifth appearance at the NCAA Tournament in the last six seasons and played in the CACC final for the fourth time in the last six years.
