Nikki Turoni enters her fourth season as an assistant coach with the women’s basketball team. She assists head coach Jen Carleton with player development.

Turoni was a two-year player at Goldey-Beacom College from 2006-2008. Prior to her years at GBC, she was a standout player at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa.

In her two-year career for the Lightning, Turoni recorded 258 points, 220 rebounds, 110 assists and 80 steals. She helped the 2006-07 team reach the CACC semifinals and was a captain her senior year (2007-08) for Carleton’s first season as head coach.

“Her spark and passion is what landed her this job as an assistant,” Carleton said. “Nikki is extremely good at relating to the players’ needs and serves as a great liaison between players and coaches. Having been a senior captain when Jacinda [Jones] was a freshman, she still serves as a great leader for her and the other players to look up to.”

Turoni also currently works as a manager at the Ruby Tuesday’s franchise.
