Ber’Nyah Ward-Mayo

Ber’Nyah Ward-Mayo is in her first season as an assistant coach for Goldey-Beacom.
 
A St. John’s University graduate with a Bachelor of Science and a Certificate in Real Estate earned in 2025, Ward-Mayo brings a strong background in collegiate athletics, youth development and basketball coaching.
 
She competed for five years with UMass and St. John’s.  Ward-Mayo appeared in 155 career games and finished with 1,336 points, 481 rebounds, 397 assists and 269 steals.  She earned second team Atlantic 10 Conference honors in 2022 and 2023 before being named the Atlantic 10 Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2023, all with UMass.
 
Since 2022, Ward-Mayo has served as an Assistant Coach with WeR1 Girls AAU, working with student-athletes to develop basketball skills, improve fundamentals and support individual growth. Their responsibilities include designing and implementing workouts, assisting with practice planning and game-day operations, mentoring players and supporting team fundraising and travel coordination.
 
Ward-Mayo has experience working with youth in New Castle County, Delaware.  Since 2018, she has served as a Summer Youth Counselor, helping organize educational and recreational programming while promoting teamwork, confidence, responsibility and positive behavior.
 
Since 2025, Ward-Mayo also has worked as a Before & Aftercare Youth Counselor, supervising students, assisting with academic activities and creating an engaging environment.
