John Brannon

John Brannon began as an assistant cross country coach under head coach Brian Conley in 2008.

Brannon graduated from Newark High School in 1990, and during his high school career ran cross country and track. He was a 1st Team All-State Cross Country selection in 1989, and he ran the 1600m, 3200m and 4x800 relay in track.
 
He went on to the University of Delaware, where he graduated in 1995. He was a varsity runner all four years and captained the team during his senior season.  He also ran on the Blue Hens’ track team where he competed in mid-distance races including the 4x800 relay. He lettered four years in track as well, and owned a personal record in the indoor Mile of 4:11 - a school record that stood for 10 years. His personal record in the outdoor mile (1500m) was 3:51.
 
Brannon continued to run and train after college, competing in numerous races including the Broad Street 10-Miler and Philadelphia Distance Run Half Marathon.
