Edward Stevenson

Edward Stevenson, Jr. was hired as an Assistant Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach at Goldey-Beacom College in August, 2011. He brings to the Lightning program a wealth of physical training and rehabilitation experience and an outstanding track record of implementing and developing winning training programs for various clients and athletes.

A Newark, Del. native, Stevenson has been the head indoor and outdoor track coach at Christiana High School since 2008. He led the indoor Lady Viking team to a 2nd place finish at the 2011 DIAA State Championship with individual state titles in the 55-meter hurdles, 4x200 meter relay and triple jump. Also, he led the outdoor team to the  school’s 10th fastest 4x200 meter relay at the Penn Relays this past year.

Stevenson also helps out with the Fast Life Track Club, which is a Wilmington-based group for all ages created in 2010 to compete in the summer race circuit. He also is a fitness supervisor at Planet Fitness in Newark. There he instructed CPR classes, developed unique fitness plans for every member and provided instructions for weight lifting.

Stevenson attended Christiana High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Delaware State University.
