Lawrence Livingston

Lawrence Livingston made a name for himself as a low post player for Goldey-Beacom’s men’s basketball team.  He is hoping his experience and leadership continues to carry over in his second year as both an assistant men’s basketball coach and the department’s graduate assistant.

With the Lightning, he is responsible for monitoring the team’s academic progress, assisting with the post players and helping with defensive philosophies.

Livingston spent 2014-15 as an assistant coach for Bacone College in Muskogee, OK.  He guided all of the post players with one becoming an NAIA All-America, was in charge of all JV practices during the second half of the season and guided said squad in several contests.

He also was the athletics academic coach for Savannah State University the second half of the 2013-14 academic year after serving the first half as Goldey-Beacom’s men’s basketball team manager.

As the department’s graduate assistant, Livingston has a wide-range of responsibilities that include helping maintain the field, creating promotional bits for the department, maintaining the men’s basketball social media accounts and helping the sports information office in game coverage.

Livingston in the summer of 2016 held an internship with the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League, helping with community events, game operations and the box office.

He had a solid four-year run for the Lightning (2009-13) after his arrival from Caesar Rodney High School.  Livingston easily is first in GBC history with 112 career blocked shots, eighth with a career .492 shooting percentage, was listed in the “Who’s Who in America Among Students in American Universities and College,” was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll in 2011 and earned a bevy of awards from the men’s basketball squad.

Livingston graduated from GBC in 2013 with a B.S. in Sport Management.  He is working on his M.B.A in Human Resource Management from the College.
