Biography
With the Lightning: Long, athletic player at the guard/forward spot…can score in the paint and from outside…solid rebounder…enters 2010-11 season in the school’s all-time top-10 in four categories: scoring (5th, 948 points), rebounds (3rd, 398), assists (7th, 144) and blocks (3rd, 50).
2009-10 Season: All-CACC Honorable Mention…Team Offensive Most Valuable Player award…started all 29 games…fourth on the team in minutes per-game at 32.3…2nd on the team and 6th in the CACC in three-point field goal percentage, .405 percent…10th in CACC and second on the team in free-throw percentage at .752 percent…14th in the CACC and third on the team in scoring with 412 points on an average 14.2 points per-game…fourth on the team in rebounding with 159 boards (5.5 rpg)…13th in the CACC in defensive rebounds (4.45 per-game)…had 32 blocks (11th in the CACC, 2nd on the team) and 32 steals, defensively…dished out 54 assists…scored a career-high 24 points in a win against Wilmington (1/19)…had 24 double-figure scoring games including five of 20 or more…recorded a career-high nine rebounds three times…had a career-high four steals in the conference finals against Felician…had multiple-blocks in 10 different games, including three games where he had a career-high three blocks.
2008-09 Season: Played in all 29 games and made 25 starts…second on the team in minutes per game at 30.6…third on the team in scoring with 244 points on an average 8.4 points per-game…second on the team in rebounding with 128 boards (4.4 rpg)…had 37 steals and six blocks, defensively…dished out 47 assists…scored a season-high 18 points against conference foe Dominican College on 1/11…recorded 13 double-digit games, including a near double-double when he scored 17 and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds against Bloomsburg on 12/14.
2007-08 Season: Appeared in all 28 games, making 20 starts…averaged 23.6 minutes per game…fourth on the team in scoring at 10.4 ppg and third on the team with 4.0 rebounds per game…dished out 43 assists…had 12 blocks and 30 steals…scored a season-high 21 points in the season-opener versus Bloomsburg on Nov. 16.
High School: Two-year letter-winner at Bordentown High School under head coach Mark Drew…led team to Central Jersey Championship…team’s leading scorer his junior and senior year…scored 1300 points in his career.
Personal: Sam McDuffie…came to GBC for the campus environment…chose to play Division II basketball because of Coach Chuck Hammond…member of the GBC Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)…describes himself as “fly.”
