Biography

With the Lightning: Third-year transfer from Division II Tiffin University of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference…great size at 6-7, offers GBC an inside body to add depth in the frontcourt…talented player who shoots well for his size and can play above the rim.

2010-11 Season: Appeared in 18 games and averaged 6.5 minutes per-contest...scored 1.2 points and pulled down 1.4 rebounds per-game...tied his career-high of eight points in a Lightning win over Molloy (1/24/11)...had a career-high five rebounds vs. Shippensburg (11/5/10)...shot .800 from the free-throw line for the season (4-of-5).

2009-10 Season: Saw playing time in 20 games, averaging 5.2 minutes per-contest…scored 1.7 points and grabbed 0.8 rebounds per-game…scored a career-high eight points at Felician on 3-for-4 shooting from the field (1-of-2 from three-point range) and 1-of-2 at the foul line…grabbed a season-high two rebounds in four different games.

2008-09 Season (Tiffin University): Played in 21 games and made one start…scored 49 points (2.3 ppg) while averaging 9.3 minutes per contest…recorded 42 rebounds (2.0 rpg)…had two assists, one block and three steals.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at Riverdale Baptist School under head coach Louis Wilson…led team to 33-5 record his senior year as a captain…voted a Private vs. Public All-Star…named Most Improved Player…honor roll all four years…All-Academic Team selection.

Personal: Phillip “Phil” Brooks…came to GBC because it was the right environment for him to excel academically and athletically…chose to play Division II sports because he is hungry for a championship…describes himself as “hilarious”…high school teammate of Thomas Robinson (Kansas), Brian Wilson and Matthew Jackson (Bowie State) and Anton Shoetan (Chowan).
