2009 Season: Team’s No. 5 singles player…won a school-record 17 singles matches (17-4 overall)…teamed with twin sister Daniela at No. 3 doubles for an 8-5 record…earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honorable mention on Sept. 21, Oct. 5 and Oct. 19…CoSIDA District 2 All-Academic Second Team selection…Team Most Match Points Award winner…won the Academic Excellence Award and the Kiwanis A. Raymond Jackson Award.
2008 Season: Team’s No. 2 singles player and part of the No. 1 doubles team…was 12-2 in singles play and 12-2 in doubles play with teammate Luisiana Souto.
At UNC Pembroke:
2008 Spring Season: Played at No. 3 and 4 singles and No. 2 and 3 doubles…went 6-12 overall (3-4 at No. 3, 3-8 at No. 4) in singles play and 4-7 in doubles play (3-7 at No. 2, 1-0 at No. 3).
Personal: Luciana “Lu” Pereira…identical twin sister of GBC teammate Daniela Pereira…wears a blue wrist watch to distinguish herself from Daniela…came to GBC for the chance to play tennis and get an education…enjoys playing soccer, video games, and going on the computer…describes herself as “happy.”
