Cross Country Opens the Season at the WCU Season Opener

Goldey-Beacom's Men's and Women's Cross Country teams got their 2025 seasons underway by partaking in the WCU Season Opener in Kennett Square, PA.
 
The men's squad had a pair of top-10 finishes by a couple of familiar runners, both of whom last season were named All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.  Junior John Ferry (Rising Sun, MD) today closed sixth in 16:39.3 and senior Kosiani Dunkley (Saint Katherine, Jamaica) ended 10th in 16:54.0.
 
Sophomore Manny Carreno (New Castle, DE) was 34th in 19:20.7, freshman Raine Siwicki (Martinsville, VA) closed 36th in 19:57.8, Aquillino Rozanski (Olympia, WA) finished 38th in 20:19.8 and fellow sophomore Jayden Bantum (Lansdowne, PA) was 39th in 21:12.3.
 
The Lightning finished third with 85 points and Kutztown recorded a perfect score with 15 over the five-kilometer course.
 
The women's unit continued its ascent with senior Haley Schofield (Wilmington, DE) ending 24th in 23:09.6 and freshman Lara Zinsou-Bodé (Reinbek, Germany) closing 29th in 26:23.8.  Sophomore Aiyanna Adams (Pittsburgh, PA) was 36th in 28:01.4, freshman Ana Thaler ended 37th in 28:09.4 and senior Kaylah Hill (Brooklyn, NY) closed 39th in 28:20.0.
 
Goldey-Beacom closed fourth with 105 points and Kutztown won with 23, also over 5,000 meters.
 
Goldey-Beacom next Friday will be at the Herb Lorenz Invitational in Ewing, NJ.
