Dr. Scott Glenn, the Faculty Athletics Representative for Goldey-Beacom College, has been selected to participate in the 2025 NCAA Division II FAR Fellow Institute.

"Dr. Glenn is a tremendous asset to the Lightning Athletics," Director of Athletics Jeremy Benoit said. "He is a good man who understands the value athletics brings to the greater College, especially as an accomplished former student-athlete in his own right.  I'm very excited for him to represent GBC at this seminar.  I'm confident he will add great depth to the discussions and come back more energized than he already is to advance the Lightning student-athlete experience."

The conference, which takes place September 26-28 in Indianapolis, provides an intensive professional development experience for a select group of experienced FARs.  The program is designed to strengthen the ability of FARs to fulfill their essential roles in Division II athletics.

Through in-depth workshops, case studies and strategic discussions, participants refine their leadership skills, enhance institutional compliance strategies and foster best practices in student-athlete advocacy and academic integrity.

An internationally acclaimed multi-award winner, Dr. Glenn serves as a professor in wide array of areas on the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels in addition to serving on the board assisting graduates of Delaware schools obtain jobs.  His courses include Sports Marketing, Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management, Interdisciplinary Studies, Ethics and he also participates in the Deeper Roots Foundation and the Global Solutions Sustainability challenge.

Dr. Glenn also serves on the NCAA International Student Records Committee and the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships Committee.

"I am deeply honored and grateful to Goldey-Beacom College for entrusting me with the dual roles of professor and Faculty Athletic Representative," Dr. Glenn said.  "Being nominated by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for the Division II FAR Fellows Institute is a profound privilege and a chance to further develop key leadership values such as collaboration, communication and emotional intelligence.

"This fellowship will enhance my capacity to advocate for student-athletes on a broader scale, with a particular focus on promoting their academic, athletic and emotional well-being.  Drawing from my diverse background in sports, academia, The Marines and business, I aim to bring meaningful perspective while continuing to learn from fellow professionals.  I am excited to grow within this impactful community and contribute to its mission of supporting the holistic development and success of our students."
