Goldey-Beacom women's tennis ended the spring season with an impressive record of 7-1 after defeating TCNJ 5-2.
Despite the loss of the doubles point, senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) and freshman Sofia Lopez (Bogota, Colombia) won third doubles 6-2 over Elizabeth Ring and Gabriella Robinson.
Senior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) continued to stay hot at first singles with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Zoey Albert and junior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) also won at third singles over Shruti Mannan with the same score.
No. 4 singles saw Lopez take the 6-3, 6-3 victory again over Robinson and senior Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) picked up the 6-4, 6-3 win at fifth singles over Ring. Corte wrapped the singles points with a 6-4, 6-0 win against Brideau.
It was Lopez' 16th victory of the season, tied for eighth on the school's single-season list.
Goldey-Beacom (15-5) heads into the offseason looking to build on the spring campaign in which it was ranked as high as 47th in the country. It was a season in which Lopez and Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkiye) each were named first team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
