Basketball Teams Open 2024-25 Seasons



Goldey-Beacom's women's basketball team opened its season with a 72-61 loss to ninth-ranked Bentley before the men's squad was handed a 94-65 loss by D'Youville.
 
The women played solidly most of the way before Bentley outscored GBC, 26-16, in the fourth quarter.  Farrah White (Wilmington, DE) overall scored 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting with fellow sophomore Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA) and senior Julie Kulesza (Wilmington, DE) adding 12 apiece for the Lightning.
 
The men saw junior Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) score 13 points and now is at 994 career.  Sophomore Zakari McQueen (Petersburg, VA) poured in a team-high 18 points with senior David Robinson (Philadelphia, PA) adding 11 for GBC.
 
The women's team on Saturday will face New Haven at 3:00 pm and the men will face the District of Columbia at 5:00 pm.
