Goldey-Beacom's Cross Country teams competed at the Paul Short Run against Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 teams and held its own against the competition.
In the men's eight kilometer race, sophomore John Ferry (Rising Sun, Md.) led the Lightning with a time of 26:40.3. Freshman Kalle Ohlund (Huskvarna, Sweden) finished next for GBC with a time of 27:17.6. The next Bolts to cross the finish line were senior Kosiani Dunkley (Kingston, Jamaica) with 27:34.9, senior Yusef Shakur (Townsend, DE) with 29:35.5, and sophomore Felipe Henao (Bogota, Colombia) with 30:35.4.
Freshmen Aquillino Rozanski (Olympia, WA) and Jalen Wright (Wilmington, DE) rounded out the times for GBC finishing with 33:08.7 and 36:26.0, respectively.
For the women's six kilometer race, senior Izzy Popoff (Cicero, N.Y.) led for the Lightning, with a time of 26:05.5. Freshman Liv Drewling (Düsseldorf, Germany) finished next with a time of 26:56.8. Junior Haley Schofield (Wilmington, DE) finished with 27:08.3, senior Madelynn Cool (Smyrna, DE) had a time of 27:22.1, and junior Kaylah Hill (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with 32:19.7.
Freshman Aiyanna Adams (Pittsburgh, PA) had a time of 33:12.3 and junior Maya White Eagle (Baraboo, Wisc.) finished in 35:35.4.
Goldey-Beacom's Cross Country teams race again on Saturday in the WCU Invitational in Exton, PA.
