Goldey-Beacom's cross country teams competed at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships in Philadelphia, PA and both finished within the top five teams.
The men's team placed fourth with an overall team score of 102, seeing Kalle Ohlund (Huskvarna, Sweden) named CACC Rookie of the Year along with sophomore John Ferry (Rising Sun, MD) and senior Kosiani Dunkley (Kingston, Jamaica) also named all-conference. Ferry placed fifth overall with a time of 27:43.56, Dunkley finished sixth with a final time of 27:48.36 and Ohlund closed in 10th place with a time of 28:07.67.
This is the first time in at least the past 15 years Goldey-Beacom men's cross country has placed three runners in the top-10 finishers.
Senior Yusef Shakur (Townsend, DE) placed 39th with a time of 31:06.20, freshman Cesar Martinez (Eagle Pass, TX) finished 42nd with 31:49.81, freshman Aquillino Rozanski (Olympia, WA) had a time of 33:38.99 and sophomore Felipe Henao (Bogota, Colombia) finished in 33:39.66.
The women's team closed fifth with a team score of 137. They were led by senior Izzy Popoff (Cicero, NY), who placed 21st with a time of 22:22.79. Junior Haley Schofield (Wilmington, DE) was 24th with a time of 22:39.06, senior Ny'jashia Smith (Newark, DE) placed 27th in 22:48.16, senior Madelynn Cool (Smyrna, DE) finished 31st with 23:04.74, freshman Liv Drewling (Düsseldorf, Germany) closed 34th with 23:29.69, freshman Aiyanna Adams (Pittsburgh, PA) finished with a time of 26:48.76 and junior Kaylah Hill (Brooklyn, NY) finished in 27:36.76.
Goldey-Beacom competes in its final race at the NCAA Regional, which takes place on Saturday, November 9.
