Cross Country Hosts GBC Fall Classic; Men Place Third

Goldey-Beacom hosted the 21st GBC Fall Classic on a cold morning, but the teams showed strong outings with the men finishing third in the eight-kilometer race at Carousel Park in Wilmington.

Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA.) was again the front runner for the men, placing fifth with a time of 29:00.7. His average mile pace was 5:50 per mile.

Freshman Colin Kay (Lewes, Del.) showed determination on the home stretch, running a time of 29:49.7 to place in 11th place, missing out on 10th place by 0.3 seconds.

Junior Chris Crossen (Magnolia, Del.) placed 14th, running a time of 30:37.4, with a pace of 6:10 per mile.

Nehemiah Frazier (Glen Burnie, MD.) ran a time of 32:23.7 to place 22nd and Tymir Ash-Shaheed (Middletown, Del.) was 24th in 32:50.6.

The women showed consistent effort in the five-kilometer run with sophomore Maddie Minnick (Wilmington, Del.) leading the way for the Lightning, placing 16th win a time of 22:59.9.

Freshman Haley Schofield (Wilmington, Del.) continued to run well, finishing 20th with a time of 24:12.2.  Sophomore Maddie Cool (Smyrna, Del.) finished with a time of 24:37.2, placing her 26th and junior Lilly Crone (Felton, Del.) was 39th in 27:34.7.

Goldey-Beacom on September 30 travels to Bethlehem, PA to compete in the Paul Short Run.  The times for those runs are to be announced.
