Cross Country Takes Part in Dutchmen Invitational

Goldey-Beacom Cross Country had solid outings as both teams traveled to Lebanon, PA  to compete in the Dutchmen Invitational.  

The Men finished seventh overall in the eight-kilometer run. Junior Zachary Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA) led once again finishing 29th with a time of 27:39:00.

Sophomore York Miles (Johannesburg, South Africa) placed 48th with a time of 28:29:00 and junior Kyle Scherer (Wilmington, DE) finished 67th with a time of 29:34:90.

Freshman Colin Kay (Lewes, Del.) and junior Chris Crossen (Magnolia, Del.) also finished in the top 100 in 70th and 84th place, respectively

The women's side placed 14th in the five-kilometer run, with an average time of 24:50.40. Sophomore Maddie Cool (Smyrna, Del.) came out in front for the Lightning, finishing 58th with a time of 22:06.80.

Freshman Maddie Minnick (Wilmington, DE) placed 63rd with a time of 22:29.70.  Fellow freshman Haley Schofield (Wilmington, DE) finished not far behind in 74th place with a time of 22:56.70.

Many runners on both the men's and women's sides saw a significant improvement from their previous race.

Goldey-Beacom hosts the GBC Fall Classic next Friday at Carousel Park. The women are scheduled to begin at 9am, and the men at 9:45am.
