Goldey-Beacom cross country returned to the course for the first time in 2021 by taking part in the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite on Friday, September 3.
For the men, junior Peter Woelfl (Heilbronn, Germany) led the way for the Lightning as he finished in sixth place with a time of 26:26.50.
Freshman Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, Pa.) placed 11th overall with a completion time of 26:40.00.
Senior Chris Townsend (Voorhees, N.J.) was 44th with a time of 28:40.60, freshman Michael Marioni (Glendora, NJ) placed 55th at 29:24.10, and sophomore Chris Crossen (Magnolia, Del.) finished 71st with a time of 29:57.50.
On the women's side, freshman Mikayla Cannon (Felton, Del) had her first collegiate debut on the cross-country course and led the women's team. She finished 46th place with a time of 22:32.00.
Freshman Maddie Cool (Wilmington, Del) followed behind, finishing 52nd with a time of 22:56.00.
Sophomore Lilly Crone (Felton, Del) was 91st with a time of 26:19.50 and freshman Hailey Crawford (Newark, Del.) finished 102nd with a time of 27:59.40.
Both the men's and women's team had great first outings.
Goldey-Beacom on September 11 will compete in the Dutchmen Invitational in Lebanon, PA. The women race at 10:15 AM and the men race at 11 AM.
