(2021-22 schedule)

Goldey-Beacom Women's Basketball team is excited to return to the hardwood and once again it will face a tough schedule, which was just revealed for the 2021-22 campaign.

After a hiatus in 2019-20, the team starts with a trip to University of the Sciences for the latter's annual tipoff tournament.  GBC on November 12 will face Saint Michael's and the next day battles Saint Rose.

The home opener is November 20 against Mercy as part of the College's annual Legacy Night.  The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener is December 1 at home against Georgian Court.

The Lightning will play five non-league games to end the calendar year, highlighted by home tilts December 18 against Adelphi and two days later versus Saint Anselm.

GBC then plays a three-game homestand early in January against Post, Holy Family and Caldwell.  The team ends the month with a tough three-game road trip against local-rival Wilmington, defending regular-season champion Georgian Court and reigning league champion Dominican (NY).

The regular season ends February 26 at home against Wilmington.

The top four teams in each of the two divisions go to the CACC Tournament with championship weekend being held March 5-6 in Caldwell, NJ.

A key player back in the post is junior forward Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ), who this season is expected to be a major presence.  A solid player who continues to be more and more of a factor each year, Harrison ended last season 20th in the CACC with 11.6 points per game, third with a .520 field goal percentage (third-best mark in school history), eighth with 29 blocks, 12th with 6.8 rebounds per contest and 13th with 131 field goals.

Harrison, who notched six double-doubles in 2019-20, is first in team history with a .523 field goal percentage and fifth with 71 blocks.

Junior Sarah Round (Northampton, England) is a vital player at guard and will be one of the squad's top go-to players.  The only returnee to start all 27 games in 2019-20, she ended that season 96th in the country with 2.26 three-pointers per game, sixth in the CACC with 61 three-pointers (seventh-best total in school history), 30th with 10.6 points per game and enters this season fifth in team history with 135 three-pointers.

Junior Lexi Weikert (Harrisburg, PA) also gives the team great play at guard, highlighted by her 27 points and seven 3-pointers December 7, 2019 at Chestnut Hill.  She ended that campaign eighth in the CACC with a .376 three-point percentage, 22nd with 35 three-pointers and 49th with 24 steals.

Junior forward Alanna Speaks (Dover, DE) hopes to return in the lineup after two solid campaigns, the last of which she ended fourth in the CACC with 7.9 rebounds per game, 10th with 55 steals and 13th with 33.2 minutes per contest.  Speaks in 2017 and 2018 on the soccer field was named first team all-league in addition to being the 2017 CACC Rookie of the Year.
