(2021-22 schedule)

Goldey-Beacom is eager to get back on the basketball court and the men's season should be an exciting one with the squad announcing its 2021-22 schedule.

For the second straight season (there was no season in 2019-20), Goldey-Beacom opens the campaign with a tournament in Bridgeport, CT.  GBC faces Bridgeport on November 13 and Southern Connecticut State the next day.

After playing Saint Thomas Aquinas on November 17, Goldey-Beacom embarks on a four-game homestand that begins November 20 against the District of Columbia and finishes December 1 with the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener versus Georgian Court.

The contest against the District of Columbia will be part of the College's annual Legacy Night.  The game versus Georgian Court will see the team sponsor Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer.

Non-conference dates to end the calendar year include a December 14 visit to Adelphi, a December 18 home contest against Saint Rose and a December 30 game at American International.

A three-game homestand early in January against Post, Holy Family and Caldwell precede a big South Division game January 18 at Wilmington.  That begins a stretch in which the Lightning play three straight conference games on the road.

February sees GBC visit reigning CACC regular-season champion Bloomfield on February 12 and the squad end the regular season February 26 at home against Wilmington.

The top four teams in each of the two divisions compete in the conference tournament with championship weekend being held in Caldwell, NJ.

The Lightning will get a major boost with the return of senior guard Tyler Jones (Lawrenceville, NJ), who is one of the area's most exciting players.  A gifted athlete who has great court awareness, Jones is an immediate game changer and one who will continue to be the team's driving force on both sides of the court.

Jones in 2019-20 ended 59th in the country with a 2.21 assist-to-turnover ratio, 81st with 51 steals, 90th with 1.76 steals per contest, seventh in the CACC with 106 assists (the seventh-best single-season total in program history), 17th with a .364 three-point percentage, 26th with 40 three-pointers and 49th with 3.8 rebounds per contest.

Sophomore Nazim Derry (Atlantic City, NJ) also is a solid guard who will be a vital part of what Goldey-Beacom accomplishes this season.  He ended last season 64th in the country with 54 steals, 71st with 1.86 steals per game, 37th in the CACC with 10.8 points per contest, 14th with 77 assists, 23rd with a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio, 30th with 36 three-pointers, 35th with a .431 field goal percentage.

Junior Juran Ligonde (Boston, MA) gives the team great play in the post and again will be called upon.  He closed last season fifth in the country with a .544 field goal percentage (the sixth-best single-season mark in team history), 27th with 151 rebounds, 32nd with 5.2 rebounds per game and 50th with 92 field goals.

Goldey-Beacom each of the last four seasons has advanced to the CACC Tournament and owns a 70-46 record, including a 53-23 league mark.  Among those accomplishments include two 20-win seasons, two trips to the conference semifinals, the 2018 CACC South Division title and home conference quarterfinal games each of the last three seasons.
