Track and Field's First Debut at the Golden Rams Invitational

Goldey-Beacom Men's and Women's Track and Field had their first debut at the Golden Rams Invitational in West Chester, PA.

Freshman Khalil Lau-Dickinson (Newark, Del.) took home second in the 400-meter with a time of 50.30 seconds. Lau-Dickinson also took fourth in the 800-meter in 2:02.02.

Senior Aaron Easter (Elkton, Md.) competed in the 5000-meter with a time of 16:13.15 which was a race of 23 runners. Fellow teammate Jono Hooper (Brisbane, Australia) took home second in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 11:14.28.

Goldey-Beacom's 4x100 men's relay team of Jayden Velazquez (Middletown, Del.), Myles Weston (New Castle, Del.), Alex Eaddy (Townsend, Del.) and Zavea Brooks-Alexander (Wilmington, Del.) took home second with a time of 45.59 seconds. This is the first time this group of men have competed together for Goldey-Beacom.

Eli Taylor (Smyrna, Del.) added another second-place finish for the Lightning in the Men's Discus throwing it 40.63 meters.

Freshman Kayla Cook (Hebron, Md.) competed in the 100 Women's 100 meter and placed third with a time of 13.05. Cook also placed fifth in the Women's 200 meter with a time of 26.89 seconds.

Freshman Chelsey James (Cherry Hill, N.J.) added another third-place finish for the Women's team in the Long Jump with a 4.78 meters jump. Along with James, Tamia Davis (New Castle, Del.) took third in the Women's shot put throwing 10.57 meters.

Goldey-Beacom Men's and Women's Track and Field are back in action on Friday and Saturday at the Danny Curran Invitational starting at 4pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday in Chester, PA.
