(2019-20 schedule)

The expectations are high and the talent is great, both key elements for what should be a successful 2019-20 campaign for a Goldey-Beacom's Men's Basketball team that announced its schedule.

The squad's annual tournament against region squads takes it to Bridgeport, CT, where it will face Bridgeport on November 8 and Southern Connecticut State two days later.  The home opener then takes place November 13 against national power Saint Thomas Aquinas.

November 16 will be part of the campus' Legacy Weekend as the team faces Franklin Pierce at 2:00 pm.  That is part of a doubleheader with the Volleyball team, which ends its regular season with an 11:00 am match vs. Concordia (NY).

Other highlights of the non-conference schedule feature road tilts November 20 at West Chester and December 1 at New York Tech.  The Lightning on November 26 host Adelphi in what should be a high-scoring affair.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener is December 7 at Chestnut Hill.  Another key matchup in the calendar year takes place December 21, when the squad hosts local rival Wilmington (DE).

Last year's CACC finalists make its way this season to Pike Creek.  GBC on February 1 hosts Bloomfield in a rematch of last year's semifinal and on February 15 hosts defending champion Dominican (NY).

The regular season ends on Leap Year Day, February 29, at Wilmington (DE).  The top eight teams go to the CACC Tournament that takes place March 3-8 and the champion received an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

On a squad which features no seniors, the Lightning this season turn to junior Marcellus Livingston (Linden, NJ) to be one of the key players.  A gifted athlete who is one of the best shooters in the region, Livingston a season ago closed eighth in the CACC with a .399 three-point percentage, 13th with 15.2 points per game, 11th with 44 steals and 12th with 57 three-pointers.

Livingston enters this season 19th in team history with 742 points and 10th with 103 three-pointers.

Junior Kyle Elliot (Rahway, NJ) also will play a big role at guard.  He ended last season 18th in the CACC with 37 steals, 18th with a .482 shooting percentage, 19th with 70 assists, 31st with 29.1 minutes per contest and scored in double figures 10 times.

Junior forward Tevin Service (Union, NJ) is another product from Union County, NJ who looks to looks to make a statement.  The only returnee to compete in all 30 contests last season, he closed last season 69th in the league with 3.1 rebounds per contest, 88th with 5.3 points per game and scored in double figures five times.
