Men’s Basketball Falls, 83-66, at Holy Family



Goldey-Beacom could not overcome the decisive run to start the second half and was handed an 83-66 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss at Holy Family in Philadelphia, PA.
 
Despite 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting to go with five rebounds and four 3-pointers from senior Corey Taite (Sayreville, NJ), Goldey-Beacom trailed 38-31 at halftime.  Kharon Randolph netted 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting for the Tigers, who shot 47 percent (14-of-30) from the field with five 3-pointers.
 
Holy Family then opened the second half on a 25-13 spurt, grabbing a 63-44 lead with 8:53 left.  Vincenzo D'Alessandro scored nine points in that time with Patrick Robinson adding six.
 
Taite scored 22 points on 6-of-12 shooting to go with five 3-pointers and eight rebounds, sophomore Marcellus Livingston (Linden, NJ) netted 15 points and senior Mahir Johnson (Chester, PA) added 13 for the Lightning (7-7, 5-1 CACC), who shot 36 percent (20-of-55) from the field.
 
Randolph scored 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting, D'Alessandro poured in 17 and Robinson added 12 for the Tigers (6-6, 2-3), who shot 55 percent (17-of-31) from the floor in the second half and 51 percent (31-of-61) overall.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday is back in Pike Creek to host Caldwell at 3:00 pm.  The women's game between the same schools precedes it at 1:00 pm.
