Women’s Basketball Falls, 60-39, to Dominican (NY)



Goldey-Beacom gave up a big third-quarter run and was dealt a 60-39 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss by Dominican (NY) at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
After giving up 10 straight points late in the first half, the Lightning allowed 11 consecutive points to start the third quarter for a 38-17 deficit with 6:29 left.  Alpreshia Parker scored five points in that time for the Chargers, who shot 5-of-5 from the floor.
 
Senior Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) scored 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting with eight rebounds for the Lightning (8-18, 6-11 CACC), who only shot 29 percent (14-of-48) from the floor.  Bryson now is third in team history with 1,446 points.

Junior Tanner Turner-Rush (Harrisburg, PA) poured in nine points and sophomore Amanda McGrogan (Mount Laurel, NJ) added eight.
 
Jasmine Gee netted 14 points, Rebecca Rabeiro scored 12 and Parker added 10 for the Chargers (9-17, 8-9), who shot 50 percent (25-of-50) from the field and overcame 20 turnovers.
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Wednesday against Jefferson for a 6:00 pm contest.  The men's game between the same schools follows at 8:00 pm.
