Goldey-Beacom's women's basketball team has many key players back in the fold and the unit was picked to end fifth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division based on a vote of the league's coaches.

One of the key versatile players back is senior guard Tanner Turner-Rush (Harrisburg, PA), who is one of the program's most athletic competitors and hardest workers.  Scoring in doubles figures 11 times last season, Turner-Rush finished 83rd in the country with 34.1 minutes per game, 16th in the league with 46 three-pointers, 30th with a .234 three-point percentage, 36th with 9.5 points per game and 39th with 45 assists.

She enters the season tied for fifth in team history with 103 three-pointers and fifth outright with a .775 free throw percentage.

Junior guard Amanda McGrogan (Mount Laurel, NJ) also is a major key to the team's success, displaying great ball handling and solid overall court awareness.  Starting all 27 games she played last season, McGrogan closed 41st in the league with 9.1 points per game, 14th with 90 assists, 21st with a 1.2 assist-to-turnover ratio, 30th with a .394 field goal percentage, 34th with 29.4 minutes per contest, 46th with 27 steals and 48th with 4.2 rebounds per game.

Sophomore forward Alanna Speaks (Dover, DE) made the transition from the women's soccer pitch with little trouble and hopes to provide the same explosiveness with her incredible athletic ability.  She ended last season 65th in the CACC with 7.0 points per game, 20th with 40 steals, 22nd with 34 three-pointers, 29th with a .250 three-point percentage, 46th with 4.3 rebounds per contest, recorded three double-doubles and scored in double figures eight times.

Speaks was just named first team all-conference for women's soccer a second straight year.  Last season, she also was tabbed CACC Rookie of the Year, CCA second team all-region and to the CACC All-Tournament Team.

Goldey-Beacom opens its season November 9 against Franklin Pierce as part of the University of the Sciences Tip-Off Tournament in Philadelphia.
