- After reaching the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Championship tournament for the fifth straight season, the Goldey-Beacom College women's basketball team will continue its postseason quest by playing in the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship tournament ... The Lightning, who are seeded fifth in the six-team field, will visit fourth-seeded Merrimack in a quarterfinal game at Hammel Court on Wednesday, Mar. 12 at 6 p.m.
- Now 13-14 on the season, the Lightning have been idle since suffering a 62-51 loss against eventual CACC champion Bloomfield College in the CACC quarterfinals on Mar. 1 ... The loss snapped the Lightning's three-game win streak and allowed the Deacons to defeat Goldey-Beacom for the second time this season.

Lillian Chukwueze and senior forward
Briana Richmond-Peters were named to the All-CACC teams by the league's head coaches ... Chukwueze, who is the Lightning's leading scorer, earned second team notice while Richmond-Peters, who leads the Lightning in rebounding, received an honorable mention distinction.
- Richmond-Peters, who ranks fourth in the CACC by averaging 9.9 rebounds per game, has posted a "double double" in each of her last four games and is averaging 15.8 points and 12.8 rebounds per contest during that span ... She scored a career-high 23 points in the Lightning's Feb. 25 win over Philadelphia University and had 15 rebounds in the Lightning's victories over Wilmington and Dominican.
- In addition, Richmond-Peters has moved into eighth place on the Lightning's all-time career rebounds list and enters Wednesday's contest with 547 career rebounds ... In addition, she has tallied 266 rebounds this season, which is the fourth-highest single-season total in school history ... She needs six rebounds to move into third place on the single-season ledger.
- Meanwhile, Chukwueze leads the Lightning and ranks eighth in the CACC by averaging 15.2 points per game ... Chukwueze, who transferred from Rutgers-Camden prior to the start of this year, has scored 10 or more points in 19 of her last 20 games, including six 20-point games ... With 411 points this year, she ranks sixth in school history for points in a single season.

Taylor Leonard ranks eighth in the CACC by making 35.4 per cent of her three-point field goal attempts ... A starter in all 27 games this year, the Lake Katrine, N.Y. native has made 40 of 113 attempts from beyond the arc ... The 40 made three-point field goals are tied for the seventh-highest single-season total in school history.
- Leonard ranks sixth in school history with 77 made three-point field goals and 278 three-point field goal attempts in her career.

Chelsea Grover, the Lightning have posted 91 blocked shots this season, which is the sixth-highest total in school history ... Grover, who ranks fourth in the CACC with 47 blocks this year, is third in school history with 101 career rejections while playing in 82 career games.
- Goldey-Beacom Coach
Bethann Burke is in her first season as the Lightning's leader ... A 2006 graduate of Chestnut Hill College, Burke was an assistant coach at Holy Family University for four seasons and helped the Tigers reach the NCAA Tournament four times.
- Wednesday's game will mark the second meeting in the all-time series between the Lightning and the Warriors ... Merrimack claimed a 61-56 victory over Goldey-Beacom in the first meeting on Dec. 29, 2007 in North Andover ...
Kellyn Nolan scored a game-high 16 points for the Lightning after making 8 of 13 shots from the floor, but the Warriors used a 5-0 spurt in the final 52 seconds to earn the victory.
- The winner of Wednesday night's quarterfinal game will advance to face top-seeded Caldwell in the semifinals on Saturday, Mar. 15 at Alumni Hall on the campus of Fairfield University at 1 p.m. ... The Lightning, who are CACC rivals against the Cougars, dropped a 62-59 setback at Caldwell on Feb. 16.
