WILMINGTON, Del. - Senior forward Kevin Udo (St. Peter's Seminary H.S./West Orange, N.J.) scored a season-high 20 points and added a season-high 18 rebounds as Bloomfield College (14-7, 12-2) used a strong second half to earn its ninth win in the last ten games with a 68-57 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (9-12, 7-8) at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Saturday afternoon.

Led by Udo, who tallied his second "double double" of the season, the Deacons earned their fifth consecutive win over the Lightning while remaining in first place in the CACC's North Division. Bloomfield, which has won the last three CACC championships, has a two-game lead over Dominican in the North Division standings with five games remaining.

The Deacons jumped out to a 19-13 lead in the opening eight minutes of the first half before the Lightning put together a 10-0 run, including four points from junior center Chris Gebhart (Cherry Hill West H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) to take a 23-19 advantage with 7:54 left in the opening stanza.

From there, the Lightning held the advantage for the remainder of the first half and led by as many as seven points en route to a 36-31 lead at the intermission.

Trailing by a 42-37 margin with 16:12 remaining in the second half, the Deacons put together a 15-0 run over a five-minute span to claim a 52-42 lead on a lay-up by Udo. He scored six points during the run while sophomore forward Claude Blue (H.S. of Graphic Communication Arts/Brooklyn, N.Y.) also tallied six points for the Deacons.

The Lightning were able to close the gap to 60-53 with 4:13 remaining, but did not get any closer as the Deacons ended the game by scoring 8 of the final 12 points.

While Udo led the Deacons with his 20-point, 18-rebound effort, Blue earned his fourth "double double" of the season by scoring 18 points with 10 rebounds and three assists.

Freshman guard Donte McGill (Mont Clare Academy/Newark, Del.) led the Lightning in the loss by scoring a team-high 17 points with six rebounds and three assists while junior forward Derrick Archie (Christiana H.S./Wilmington, Del.) posted his second "double double" of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
