Millersville, Pa.- The Goldey-Beacom College men's basketball team fell to 2-3 on the season as they were defeated in non-conference action by Millersville University (3-3), 75-63, on Saturday afternoon.

The Lightning were led by senior center Chris Gebhart (Cherry Hill West H.S./ Cherry Hill, N.J.) who recorded his second consecutive "double double" by recording a season high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor and 4-of-8 from the free throw line, Gebhart also hauled in a game high 12 rebounds in the loss.

Shawn Williams led the way for the Marauders by scoring a game high 21 points with just under half of his points coming from the free throw line (10-12).

The Lightning took their first lead of the game, 39-38, with 12:56 left in the second quarter on a 8-0 run which was capped by a Domineek Owens (Paul Robeson H.S./ Philadelphia, Pa.) layup. Owens finished the day with 14 points, all of which were scored in the second half, on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor and 4-of-6 from the line. The Marauders regained the lead just 1:15 later and never relinquished it.

The Lightning were as close as three points with 3:35 remaining but the Marauders closed the game on 13-4 run to seal the victory.

Owens recorded his fourth double digit scoring effort in give games.

Freshman guard Daniel Cooper (West Orange-South Dade H.S./ Homestead, Fl.) had his second best game of the season by tallying 12 points and registering a game high three rejections.

The Lightning will play in an exhibition game on Monday evening when they travel to Coppin State University for a 7:30 PM start.
