Box Score West Chester, Pa.- The Lightning women's basketball team fell to 0-4 on the season as they were unable to overcome a 34-5 run by West Chester University (5-0) over the first 14 minutes of the first half in Tuesday night's non-conference affair at the Hollinger Field House. Eventually falling to the Golden Rams by a final score of 77-55.
The Lightning were led once again by freshman forward
Britani Bryson (Bethel H.S./ Hampton, Va.), as she poured in a game high 15 points and hauled in a game high 14 rebounds. Tuesday's effort earned Bryson her second career "double double" in as many games for the Lightning.
The freshman duo of
Lexi Bruno (Millville Senior H.S./ Millville, N.J.) and
Reighly Melochick (Minersville Area H.S./ Pottsville, Pa.) each netted 10 point a piece for the Lightning in the loss. It marks the first time in both of their careers that they have tallied at least 10 points in a game.
The Golden Rams were led offensively by Dallas Ely who scored a team high 14 points on 50 percent (6-12) shooting from the floor.
The Lightning will look to break the slump as they continue their tough non-conference schedule by hosting New Haven University on Saturday afternoon at the Jones Center. Tip-
off is set for 3 PM.
