Lightning Women's Basketball Fall To Terrapins, 103-43

Lewis, Stefanski Each Score Nine Points



College Park, Md.- The University of Maryland Terrapins used a strong first half run to defeat the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning, 103-43, in exhibition play at the XFINITY Center on Saturday evening. For the second time in three years the Lightning had the opportunity to participate in an exhibition game against the University of Maryland.
 
The Terrapins put three starters in double figures with Shatori Walker-Kimbaugh (Hopewell H.S./ Aliquippa, Pa.)  leading the way by scoring a game high 15 points on 6-11 shooting from the field while knocking down 3-5 from the charity stripe. Walker-Kimbaugh also pulled in nine rebounds on the night.

The Lightning were lead by sophomore guard Jasmyn Lewis (Rancocas Valley H.S./ Mount Holly, N.J.) and freshman guard Mikila Stefanski (Cedar Creek H.S./ Hammonton, N.J.) who both scored nine points in the loss. Lewis knocked down three of her seven field goal attempts while going a perfect three for three from the free throw line. Stefanski shot 3-5 from the floor while knocking down three shots from long distance in 15 minutes off the bench.
 
Freshman forward Britini Bryson pulled down a team high seven rebounds for the Lightning.

The Lightning will begin the regular season on November 14th when they travel to North Andover, Mass. for the Merrimack College tournament. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM as they face off against Bentley University.
