WILMINGTON, Del. – Senior forward Irene Hudson (Corcoran H.S./Syracuse, N.Y.) scored 12 points and added a season-high 13 rebounds as Goldey-Beacom College (11-8, 8-2) earned its third win in the last four games, a 47-41 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Chestnut Hill College (2-13, 0-8) at the Lightning's Joseph West Jones College Center on Tuesday evening.

Led by Hudson, who posted the 10th “double double” of her college career, the Lightning allowed a season-low 41 points, including 15 in the first half, en route to beating the Griffins for the seventh straight time.

After the teams traded five-point runs to open the game, the Lightning went on a 15-0 run over a five-minute span to take a commanding 20-5 lead on a lay-up from Hudson, who had six points during the spurt.

The Griffins scored 8 of the next 12 points to narrow the gap to 24-13 with 3:49 remaining after a free throw from sophomore guard Olivia Gorczynski (Cardinal McCormick H.S./Parlin, N.J.).

The Lightning ended the first half by scoring five of the final seven points to take a 29-15 advantage into the intermission.

Trailing by 14 points to open the second half, the Griffins scored 16 of the first 20 points, including a pair of three-point field goals from Gorczynski, to narrow the margin to 33-31 with 12:30 left.

But, the Lightning answered by going on a 7-3 spurt to extend their lead to 40-34 with 6:40 remaining on a jumper by senior guard Ashley Rosario (Harry S. Truman H.S./Levittown, Pa.).

After a three-point field goal from Gorczynski trimmed the Griffins' deficit to 40-37 with 5:21 remaining, the Lightning scored 7 of the final 11 points, including a five-for-six effort from the foul line, to secure the victory.

In leading the Lightning to the victory, Hudson made four of five shots from the floor in addition to all four of her free throws. She also recorded a career-high five steals for the Lightning, who matched a season high with 12 steals.

Meanwhile, sophomore forward Chelsea Grover (Seneca H.S./Southampton, N.J.) contributed a season-high 13 points with four rebounds, making four of nine field goal attempts along with five of six free throws.

Gorczynski led the Griffins with 13 points in a losing effort, marking her fourth straight game with 10 or more points. She made 4 of 11 shots from the field, including a four-for-nine performance from three-point range, in addition to three rebounds and three steals.
