Rich Flemming compiled 19 points and eight rebounds in leading Goldey-Beacom College to an 87-70 rout of first-place Philadelphia University to complete its first-ever season sweep of their rivals to the north. The 13-9 Lightning - who never trailed in the contest - are now part of a three-way tie for first place with the Rams and Chestnut Hill College (home winners vs. Wilmington) at 10-3 atop the CACC's North Division. Goldey shot out to leads of 17-5 and 35-13 before taking a 44-26 cushion into the locker room. Philadelphia (15-7) - which was paced by seniors Corey Francisco (19 points) and Temi Adebayo (17) - opened the second half with seven unanswered points to close within 44-33, and came within single digits (61-52) on two Adebayo free throws with nine minutes to play before a Porter jumper sparked a 9-0 charge that extended the lead to 70-52 with 6:35 left From there, the Rams never came closer than 14 points, spoiling junior guard Jimmy Connolly's 1,000th-point milestone.
