Opening Tip-Off
After having their season-opening three-game win streak snapped at the Stonehill College Tip-Off Classic, the Lightning will open their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and home schedules on Tuesday night by welcoming the University of the Sciences to the Joseph West Jones College Center. Opening tip-off between the Lightning and the Devils is slated for 6 p.m. and live stats and video of the game will be available on the Lightning's official athletics website,

Updating the Lightning
Now 3-2 on the season, the Lightning dropped a pair of games last weekend at the Stonehill College Tip-Off Classic after opening the season with a three-game win streak. After suffering a 79-42 loss against the host Skyhawks on Friday night, the Lightning dropped a 61-53 decision against Assumption College on Saturday afternoon. Senior forward Akilah Sewell led the Lightning at the Stonehill Tip-Off Classic by averaging 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. She also had a season-high five blocked shots in the Lightning's loss against Assumption. Senior guard Devonne Richardson is the Lightning's leading scorer with a 12.2 average while also grabbing 8.2 rebounds per contest. Meanwhile, senior guard Irene Hudson is averaging 9.6 points per outing while leading the team with a .487 field goal percentage.
Scouting the University of the Sciences
Currently 1-4 on the season, the Devils will be looking to rebound from an 85-81 overtime setback against West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon. The Devils, who opened the season with three consecutive losses, earned their lone win on Nov. 15 with a 75-73 victory over Lincoln University. Sophomore guard Brianne Traub is the Devils' leading scorer with an 18.4 average and also leads the team by making 47.0 per cent of her field goal attempts. Meanwhile, senior guard Elsebeth Birman is averaging 13.4 points per game while making 44.1 per cent of her field goal attempts. University of the Sciences Coach Paul Stadelberger is in his fourth season as the Devils' leader.
Looking Back at Last Year's Meetings Against the Devils
The Lightning earned a pair of victories over the Devils last year. After earning a 65-63 home victory in early December, the Lightning posted a 72-68 triumph over the Devils in Philadelphia in January. Senior guard Devonne Richardson had 21 points with 13 rebounds in the home win for Goldey-Beacom while senior Irene Hudson had 23 points in the road victory.
What's Ahead for Goldey-Beacom
The Lightning will start a three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon when they face Dowling College in the opening round of the Dowling College Holiday Tournament. The Lightning will also face C.W. Post in the two-day tournament before resuming their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule on Friday, Nov. 30 against Concordia at 5 p.m. Goldey-Beacom's next home game will be on Tuesday, Dec. 4 against Georgian Court at 7 p.m.
