Goldey-Beacom College stumbled on the road to fall to 5-2 in the CACC and 7-7 overall. Holy Family led wire to wire in this one sided affair.
Holy Family came out firing as Eric Fleming and Angel Ayala got the scoring started for the Tigers. A 3-pointer by
A.J. Picard cut the Tigers lead to 9-7 with 15:32 to play in the first half. However Holy Family would respond with an 11-0 run capped off with two free throws. Holy Family would stretch their lead to 20 with 1:02 left in the first half.
Kyle Steinbergin would knock down a “3” with 0:43 to go cutting the Holy Family's lead to 17 at the half.
While the game ended in a 10-point decision for the Tigers 88-78, the Lightning were never really in this game as Holy Family was able to hold off the Lightning.
Marcus Porter led the lightning with 22 points while
A.J. Picard added 17, but the defense was the story in this game. Goldey-Beacom allowed the Tigers to shoot 50.9% from the floor including 47.8% from behind the arc, and grab 15 offensive rebounds.
The Lightning will look to bounce back tomorrow night when they host Mercy College at 7:00PM at the Joseph West Jones Center.
