Philadelphia, PA – Lightning's road ends with close game in CACC Semifinals

The Goldey-Beacom College Men's Basketball team entered their first CACC Semifinal game, since becoming an NCAA Division II member, and faced off against Bloomfield College for their shot at the CACC Championship.  Bloomfield took the only regular season game between the two teams, but the Lightning, winners of 8 of their last 9, looked to even things up.

Bloomfield showed their strength on the court right from the start, going out to a 10-2 lead.  Not backing down, the Lightning stormed back to cut into Bloomfield's lead, and entered halftime trailing 36-33.

To start the second half, Bloomfield immediately took control and pulled away from the Lightning taking a 52-43 lead in the first five minutes.  The Lightning then struck back, and eventually tied the game up at 61-61 with 8:11 left on the clock.  The Deacons responded and maintained the lead throughout the final minutes, and despite two 3-point attempts in the final minute, the season concluded with a buzzer beating 3-pointer from Kyle White (20 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) to bring the Lightning to within two.  With the 78-76 win, Bloomfield advanced to the CACC finals.

Along with White's contributions, Sam McDuffie added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  Adrian Miles also joined in with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.

The Lightning finished their season with a 14-15 overall record and an 8-8 CACC record.
