Wilmington, DE – Nolan hits game winning shot as she is saluted on Senior Night
Team Captain Kellyn Nolan, a Waymart, PA native, was honored before last night's game vs. Chestnut Hill College, as the only senior on the 2008-09 Lightning roster.
In the final game of the season for both squads, the Lightning had to rally to for a 55-51 victory. Kellyn Nolan (17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals) was the hero on the evening, as she capped a 14-3 run over the final 4:12, with the game winning layup with 20 seconds remaining.
The Lightning battled back all evening, as they erased a 25-19 halftime deficit and an 11-point second half Griffins lead.
Sophomore Arielle Alford filled the stats sheet with 6 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals, while classmate Janae Weldon supplied 10 points and 5 rebounds. Freshman Evebonee Acosta chipped in 12 points and 4 steals for the Lightning.
With the win, the Lightning finished the season 9-18, 5-13, and in 6th place in the CACC South.
