Wilmington, DE – Lightning Men's Basketball take season series from USP

 

The Lightning men's basketball team continued their rivalry with the University of the Sciences last night, and looked to increase their winning streak to six games. 

 

The Devils strolled to an 11-2 lead, in the first five minutes of the game.  However, the Lightning answered back with a 19-6 run, and held a 28-25 halftime advantage. 

 

Looking to take a firm stance in the second half, the Lightning raced to 53-33 lead, behind junior Kyle White's 18 points (8-11 FG) and three assists.  With solid production from sophomore Sam McDuffie (10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals) and junior Adrian Miles (8 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals), the Lightning defeated the Devils 63-41, and took the season series. 

 

With the win, the Lightning moved into tie with Holy Family for the 2nd place in the CACC South.

 

The Lightning will next travel to Post University this Saturday, February 21, 2009 for a 3:00pm game.
