Philadelphia, PA – Holy Family slips by Lightning in final minute
The game started a little slow for the Lightning, as the Tigers took an 11-4 lead in the first five minutes. As the Lightning found their groove, they climbed back into the game. With junior Adrian Miles leading the way (15 first half points), the Lightning were able to grab the first half lead 36-29.
In the second half, the Tigers stormed back to tie the game, only to see the Lightning regain and then extend their lead to 63-54 with 6:03 on the clock. However, a Tigers 16-4 run over the final 5:38, sent the visitors home with loss 70-67. Both teams shot well, (GBC 50%, HFU 47%) and finished virtually even in the rebounding department (HFU 28, GBC 26), but the major difference came at the free-throw line. The Tigers made 22 of 27, compared to the Lightning's 12-of-16.
Kyle White led the Lightning with 18 points and added 6 steals, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Adrian Miles finished the game with 17 points, while Anthony Parham boasted 10 points and 6 rebounds.
The Lightning will next travel to Nyack College in Nyack, NY this Saturday, January 31 for a 3:00pm game.
