Wilmington, DE – White and Ellegood lead Lightning but teams two game win streak is halted

Kyle White and Azeez Ellegood led the Lightning into the CACC battle against Holy Family.  

With the Lightning on a two game CACC win streak, they looked to make it three in a row.  The game was a battle with each team taking their shots and trading baskets, until the Lightning took the first prominent lead of the game.  But as Tigers do, Holy Family pounced back and claimed the 25-17 lead at the end of the first half.

The Lightning kicked off the second half by climbing back up and into the game.  The Tigers maintained their lead, and as the Lightning tried to climb back, Holy Family held them at bay.  The Lightning fell to the Tigers 57-47.

Kyle White led the Lightning with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists.  Azeez Ellegood joined in with 10 points, while Sam McDuffie added 8 points and 8 rebounds, and Darrell Johnson added 9 points and 6 rebounds.

The Lightning will next host Bloomfield College on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 8:00pm.
