Lansil Gordon

Lansil Gordon is in his first year as an assistant track & field coach for Goldey-Beacom.
 
Gordon in 2010 started his coaching career as a volunteer coach at William Penn High School in New Castle for a year and a half before serving as the boys’ team assistant coach in 2011. During his first year as an assistant, Gordon led the team to third place at the NCC championships and also claiming the division title.
 
He started his own youth organization in 2011, First State Destroyers TC, in association with Rose Hill Community Center in New Castle.  As the founder, Gordon and his assistants produced numerous All-Americans.
 
Gordon in 2015 led the William Penn boys’ track team to second place at the DIAA championships where he also led the boys’ 4x200 and 4x100-meter relay teams to wins. He also led the boys’ team in taking the Northern Delaware 4x400-meter relay at the Penn Relays that year.
 
In 2016, Gordon accepted a head coaching position at St. Georges Technical with the boys’ and girls’ teams.  In his first year, the boys’ team won its first division championship.  He also led the boys’ team in winning the state track & field championship in 2016 and 2017.  He also led the girls’ team to a third-place showing.
 
In 2017, Gordon led St. Georges girls’ team to its first Suburban 4x400-meter relay championship at the Penn Relays along with its first division championship.
 
Gordon is a Level 1 USATF certified coach and a member of the Mid-Atlantic Youth Board. In 2018, the First State Destroyers TC received the Youth Club-of-the-Year Award from The USATF Mid-Atlantic Association.
