A starter in all six games for the Lightning men's basketball team, junior guard Kyle Steinbergin averaged a team-high 13.3 points per game while shooting 38.1 per cent from the field. He scored in double figures in four of the Lightning's six games while helping Goldey-Beacom post a 3-3 record.
In the Lightning's 85-73 victory over Georgian Court on Nov. 26, the Englewood, N.J. native erupted for a career-high 26 points, including 19 in the first half. He made 7 of 12 three-point field goal attempts and went 5-for-6 from the free throw line. In addition, he also added four assists with seven rebounds.
Just three days prior to his effort against Georgian Court, Steinbergin tallied 18 points in helping the Lightning hold off Millersville for a 74-71 victory. He connected on 5 of 11 shots from beyond the arc and also made three of four free throws.
He was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Knee Center of WNY Classic after averaging 10.5 points per game in the Lightning's two contests and tallied 11 points at the University of the Sciences.
